What a fantastic Grand Final Day
for the Wildcats.

The day started early with both the under 13's and 17's meeting at Warnies for breakfast. The U13's were driven to Bluetongue Stadium by Gary Head in a mini bus and Gary then returned to Warnies to pick up the U17's and take them to the stadium to support the U13's.

After a very hard fought game our under 13's won the grand final against Woy Woy Red by 26 points to 12.

Congratulations to everyone associated with the team and especially all the players who played the game hard but fair. Tries were scored by Topou Soane, Anthony King and two tries to James McKee. Cameron McNamara kicked three conversions including one from the sideline that a first grade goal kicker would have been proud of. Player of the match was Josh Linton.

Well done to coach Chris Acreman and his support staff of Laurie Ashwell, Glen Allan, Warren Butler and Tony King.

The under 17's played under lights against their arch enemy Terrigal. After one of the best defensive displays we have seen for a long time our boys won 5 points to nil.

We started the game with great attitude and took it up to Terrigal like we really wanted this win (and that was just our spectators!). The team sustained their attitude and disipline for the full sixty minutes and then another long four minutes after the bell whilst they were under a massive pressure. When the whistle finally went both the players and spectators were very relieved.

The lone try was scored by winger Ethan Sant after great vision from Dylan Acreman at the base of the scum. The dedication award must go to Ben Gillies who had already played a full match for the New South Wales Under 17's against ACT in Sydney earlier that afternoon. He would not have missed this Grand Final for the world.

During the after match presentation it was very moving to hear our captain Shane Cording dedicate the win to our late friend Craig Brindle, who had managed the team for a few years.

Congratulations for a massive effort to coach Tony Chesher, Gary Head, Steve Radford, Rob Davies and Scott Curtis.

Both teams and car loads of supporters travelled back to Warnies for the post-match celebrations. A special thank you (AGAIN) to David Hannan for his generosity. Please support Warnies Cafe because they sure support us.

See you all at the Junior Presentation Day at Wyong Leagues Club at 3pm on Sunday 12th October.

Go the Wildcats!

Club officials / members:

It is with great pleasure and great pride that I advise you of the selection of three (3) of our current Warnervale U17's players in the NSW Country U17 team.

As a result of their outstanding performances at the U17 Country Championships this weekend at Casino (where CC U17's where beaten by the Hunter 23 - 22 in the final) three of our players Shane Cording, Ben Gillies and Trent Lake have been selected in this years NSW Country U17 team.

This is an outstanding result for our club and a credit to the boys themselves - there were 7 players from the Coast selected in the Country team, our three boys and two each from Terrigal and Ourimbah.

In our clubs short history we have had players selected on prior occasions for Country honours, most recently last year Luther Dyson was selected in the NSW Country U17's team and went on to win NSW U17's honours, whilst Ben, Trent and Sean Kanyasi made the Country U16's.

On behalf of our club I wish our three boys every success in their Country games and hope they also progress on to higher honours.

With the quality of players coming through our immediate junior ranks (our Colts who have decided to move into grade secured a victory in 2nd Grade on the weekend), together with this year's talented U17's and U16's our clubs future is looking bright.

Congratulations boys, AND GO THE MIGHTY WILDCATS
